February 29, 2004 note: I've read that the JPL has 4,000 employees. but maybe there are just 28 NASA Civil Service Employees employed there, as the below excel spreadsheet said. I'm usually happy with whatever information the government agency sends me. In this case, I'm not going to pursue it further.

Your FOIA request for release of information from the files of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was received.
Your request is being processed in chronological order based upon the date it was received. NASA processes all FOIA requests in a multi-track processing system, based upon the date of receipt and the amount of work and time involved in processing the request. The agency determines whether the request is simple or complex. In order for a request to be expedited, the requester must demonstrate a compelling or urgent need and demonstrate that failure to obtain the information could pose an imminent threat to life or physical safety or loss of substantial due process rights.

Description: Dear NASA, Freedom of Information person,
Under the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552, I am
requesting a copy of the names, job titles and salaries of
the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory employees.
I have a website (http://lbloom.net/), that lists the names,
job titles, and salaries of all Washington State employees
and I would like to add the names, job titles, and salaries
of some federal government employees.
Many government agencies were able to e-mail me their
salaries, job titles, and employees list in a microsoft
excel format, or send me a cd-rom in excel format.
If you are able to e-mail me or send a cd-rom list of the
Jet Propulsion Laboratory employees names, job titles, and
salaries, that would be easy for both of us. My e-mail
address is manaco@whidbey.net
Please supply the records without informing me of the cost
if the fees do not exceed $30.00 which I agree to pay.
If you deny all or any part of this request, please cite
each specific exemption you think justify your withholding
of information. Notify me of appeal procedures available
under the law.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Louis Bloom
