arlington school had a small store by the school that the kids could go to if they had their parents permission. here's a note that phillip wrote around 1953 to his teacher (mrs. read) in the first grade in arlington. the teacher gave it to ma and pa and probably told them to keep and eye on phillip. ma and pa and grandma bloom kept lots of mementos, i suppose all families do that.
phillip won the camano kids fishing derby probably around 1959
a part of a letter that phillip wrote to ma and pa on may 7, 1970. phillip couldn't believe that greg and marilyn would pay $150 to $200 for a baby bulldog. phillip recently said that "if you live long enough, you'll eventually eat your words."

my brother phillips dog, samwise, got hit by a car and broke his leg while at manaco beach on february 1, 2003. the below links are from a series of e-mails and webpage links i (louis bloom), sent out about samwise the dogs recovery from his broken leg. also, there are odds and ends manaco beach, camano island pictures. the surgery and other bills for fixing his leg cost around $4,000.00. if we knew it would cost that much, samwise may have have become a three legged dog or gotten a cheap "sleeping" shot. here's a link to sam the dog pictures from saturday february 1, 2003
